Description:
This performance follows both the line defined by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the CLPU and the communication strategy of the Center, as well as the objectives of the call itself: we focus on the general dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge, while also promoting the dissemination of research results, both our own and those of our users (as a Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS), we define ourselves not only as a research center but also as a user center). Two clear lines of action that have marked, since our inception, a dissemination strategy in which we give back to society, in the form of information and knowledge, what it provides us, always being aware of the social responsibility that we have as a public consortium.
This scientific and technological dissemination is aimed at different target audiences: the general society to whom we want to provide a basis for understanding complex current phenomena to build tools with which to consolidate critical thinking; non-university students to foster scientific vocations without gender bias; groups with difficulties accessing the scientific and technological field to make our motto ‘Science for everyone’ a reality; and audiences with different disabilities to whom we adapt many of our workshops so that science creates magic and magic becomes science. In addition to these two main axes, the UCC+i also aims to promote the communication skills of researchers, aware that they are the ones upon whom the effort to make their science understandable to different audiences falls.
