ITER and DEMO diagnostics: challenges and perspectives
Magnetic Fusion Confinement devices are studied in Europe but also worldwide with some new machines being constructed and constitute a very serious alternative to an actual solution for producing energy. In ITER and ADEMO tokamaks many challenges have to be faced for diagnostics due to very high heat and neutron fluxes environment, limited number of access, and strong magnetic field. This talk will present a brief update about the ITER and DEMO status, main challenges in terms of diagnostics, the envisaged solutions, and perspectives.
This talk will focus in particular on the following points:
- Magnetic Fusion Confinement
- Plasma scenario optimization
- Radiation measurements
- Transport analysis
- Real-time control
- Recent news and perspectives
