Southeastern U.S. rural landscapes pose potential risk for salmonella infection

15 julio 2015

Researchers from the University of Georgia have determined that various freshwater sources in Georgia, such as rivers and lakes, could feature levels of salmonella that pose a risk to humans. Salmonella infections are one of the top causes of gastrointestinal disease in the US, and while regulatory agencies have made progress in reducing foodborne transmission of the pathogen, other infection sources, including exposure to water, have not been as thoroughly examined.img src=»http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/sciencedaily/~4/cuq7F4dDcqI» height=»1″ width=»1″ alt=»»/
