Container plants were used in three experiments to determine the effects of plant species, plant size, container size, container spacing, and sprinkler type on plants’ ability to capture irrigation water. Capture factor (CF) values increased as plant size increased. Overall, close container spacings reduced CF. Wobbler sprinklers increased irrigation capture in certain instances. Capture factor was determined to be a dynamic parameter that depends on canopy size, container size, container spacing, and sprinkler type.
