X-ray imaging, optical scattering and optical emission diagnostics will be presented in these lectures. X-ray imaging in various forms from self-emission to x-ray backlighter will be discussed and the capabilities of various detectors and imaging systems reviewed. The application of light scattering from nonlinear plasma processes such as Raman scattering and high harmonic generation for diagnosis of plasma conditions and the use of optical self emission to characterize ionization states, plasma density and strong magnetic fields will also be discussed.
