The measurement of neutral gas and plasma density with a Nomarski interferometer

We report the on-shot measurements of the density for plasma and a gas target using the technique of Nomarski interferometry, during the first experimental campaign with 100 TW, 10 Hz laser pulses at ELI-NP. The interference images recorded by a CCD camera were analyzed using the Neutrino image viewer and analyzer to compute the two-dimensional density maps of the target.
