FREE ELECTRON LASER & HIGH BRILLIANT ELECTRON BEAMS. @ USAL and CLPU from February 2020
(1 ECTS credits granted)

:: INSCRIPTION>>

The Laser-Plasma Chair at USAL develops laser-plasma physics investigation related to the CLPU experimental activity. Experiments are performed at CLPU an abroad in collaboration with International recognized scientific groups.

The Laser-Plasma chair at USAL form young scientist in the field of High Power Lasers plasmas and particle-radiation beams

Within this action we present the 1nd course on Free Electron Laser  & High Brilliant Electron beams

The Free Electron Laser (FEL) can produce radiation pulsed with high peak brilliance and with photons’ energies ranging from the VUV to the hard X-ray i.e from 10 eV (120 nm) up to 10 keV (0.12 nm).

These special proprieties of the FEL come from its basic design which is different from that of common atomic and molecular lasers

Nowadays different FEL machines are present in the world focused on different wavelength emissions. In particular two X-ray FEL are operating in USA and EU coupled with other laser sources and opening different

FEL dynamic need to be described by classical or quantum theory depending on the main parameters conditions and the threshold between the two descriptions is ruled by the FEL parameter r.
