Principal Investigator of accelerator-based research projects in FLASH radiotherapy, beam diagnostics, and advanced radiation sources.<\/p>\n<p>Topics Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accelerator physics, beam dynamics, and advanced accelerator concepts.<\/li>\n<li>Ultra-high dose rate (FLASH) radiotherapy and beam delivery systems.<\/li>\n<li>Laser-plasma acceleration and plasma-based radiation sources.<\/li>\n<li>High-brightness electron beams, VHEE irradiation, and compact accelerator technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced beam diagnostics, coherent radiation generation, and ultrafast beam characterization.<\/li>\n<li>Synchrotron radiation facilities, injector LINAC design, and accelerator optimization.<\/li>\n<li>Radiation\u2013matter interaction, ultrashort particle bunches, and beam-driven secondary radiation sources.<\/li>\n<li>Design and development of accelerator infrastructures for medical, scientific, and industrial applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than ten years of experience in accelerator physics, beam dynamics, and particle beam applications across RF accelerators, synchrotron light sources, and laser-plasma accelerator facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive use of electron, proton, laser-driven, and synchrotron-based particle and radiation sources for scientific and technological applications.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with beam diagnostics systems spanning coherent THz radiation, optical diagnostics, X-gamma rays spectrometers, beam position monitors, longitudinal and transverse beam characterization, and advanced detector systems.<\/li>\n<li>Design, simulation, commissioning, and optimization of accelerator components including injector LINACs, beam transport lines, bunch compression systems, magnetic optics, and diagnostic sections.<\/li>\n<li>Development of Ultra High Dose Rate (UHDR) beam delivery concepts, ultra-high dose rate irradiation platforms, and advanced dosimetric methodologies.<\/li>\n<li>Experimental and numerical studies of high-brightness electron beams, coherent radiation generation, beam manipulation, and plasma-based acceleration mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li>Leadership and coordination of accelerator research facilities and experimental platforms, with responsibility for infrastructure development, operation, and strategic planning.<\/li>\n<li>Participation in international accelerator projects including CERN CLEAR, HYBRILIN, APPLE, EuPRAXIA\/EuAPS, SOLARIS Injector Upgrade, and laser-plasma accelerator programs at CLPU.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive experience in feasibility studies, experiment design, beamline implementation, data acquisition, simulation activities (ASTRA, MAD-X, Elegant), and advanced data analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in multidisciplinary collaborations involving accelerator physics, medical physics, dosimetry, synchrotron science, plasma physics, and advanced radiation source development.<\/li>\n<li>Supervision of PhD, MSc, and undergraduate students, together with teaching activities in beam dynamics, accelerator physics, plasma acceleration, and experimental physics.<\/li>\n<li>Editorial and peer-review activities for leading international journals in accelerator physics, plasma physics, photonics, and applied radiation sciences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=bLVaLJ4AAAAJ&amp;hl=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=bLVaLJ4AAAAJ&amp;hl=it<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Status: Assistant Professor at Department of Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering (SBAI), Sapienza University of Rome.
